With your purchase of our ResQ microchip you receive a free lifetime microchip registration for your pet.

You will not need to pay any other fees to keep your pet registered on the ResQ’s microchip website. We pay for your registration when we purchase the chip.  There are other chips which require you to pay an annual registration fee each year -

Microchipping has become a very popular and safe way to permanently identify your pet and you as its owner in the unfortunate case that your pet is lost.  Getting a microchip for your pet is required by law in the city of San Antonio, as they replace city tags. Microchips cost around $40.

Microchipping involves placement of a small electronic chip the size and shape of a piece of rice just under the skin in the neck area. A needle is used to inject the chip. The injection is comparable to a regular vaccine injection.

If your pet becomes lost or seperated from you, then anyone who finds your pet can present it to a veterinarian or any animal care facility –  like the City or the Humane Society – where the chip can be scanned. The chip company will then be notified with your chip number and the company will then contact you with the information on the whereabouts of your pet.

We advise you to use this system of identification as well as a collar identification system on your pet.
