18 Jul Go on an Adventure to a Pet Friendly San Antonio Park
Thinking about taking your furry friend out on a short adventure around the block? Why not expand their horizons (and their fun) and check out one of the many great pet friendly San Antonio parks!
Located alongside a portion of the San Antonio river, the beautiful Brackenridge Park area offers eight different walking trails to explore and scattered watering holes and picnic areas to rest. The park is pet friendly in selective areas so long as dogs are kept on leashes and dog owners clean up after them.
The park is open 7 days a week from 5:00am until 11:00pm, and is located at 3700 North St. Mary’s in San Antonio, TX.
The areas surrounding Brackenridge Park are a treat for pet owners as well, with many fantastic restaurants, shops, and attractions to explore – like the Japanese Tea Garden, San Antonio Zoo, Sunken Garden Theatre, and the Witte Museum – but make sure Fido is at a dog boarding facility or staying with a friend before you check them out!
Located at 13102 Jones Maltsberger Road in San Antonio, McAllister Park is one of North Central San Antonio’s most beautiful public parks thanks to it’s massive amount of trees and over fifteen miles of hiking/biking trails.
The park is pet friendly in selective areas so long as dogs are kept on leashes and dog owners clean up after them. A fair bit of warning however: the trails at McAllister Park tend to be frequented by bikers, so if your dog is skittish around moving vehicles, this park may not be for them.
McAllister Park is open 7 days a week from 5:00am until 11:00pm.
